_TOYOBO ETSEN - LANDSCAPE & SILENCE
For this exhibition Esther van Waalwijk made a series of 9 photographic color etchings inspired by the Scottish landscape. In this printing technique the originally digital photos undergo color separation (CMYK).
For each colour an etching plate was made. These plates were inked by hand and, in four passes of a traditional press, printed on etching paper. By using this slow delicate technique, Esther shows the colourful but desolate Scottish landscape in a poetic way.
